Retailers & Resources

Hi everyone,

Here's a list of retailers & resources that I have either personally used myself or that come highly recommended.

Booths Music
17 Churchgate, Bolton, BL1 1HU
01204 522908

I have been going to Booths Music for all of my musical needs for over 10 years, plus I also go for my private flute lessons there. Booths have a wealth of musical knowledge, and have been in the music business for over 125 years. It's also a family owned business. Booths are friendly, honest and nothing is too much trouble whether that would anything from taking up a musical instrument to private lessons and graded exams.

Forsyths Music Shop
126 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 2GR
0161 956 2052

I usually go to Forsyths to try out my flute upgrades (if they stock the brand that I would like to buy from). They offer a wide range of instrument choices, and they also have a sheet music library where you take out music to try at home without purchasing it beforehand.

Just Flutes
46 South End, Croydon, CR0 1DP
020 8662 8400

This is where I mainly get my flute upgrades from, and it's also where I purchased my first ever piccolo from. They offer everything from student flutes right the way up to professional model flutes, as well as a whole range of music books which range anything from tutor books right the way through to exam grades and studies. Also, because they are flute specialists they also have a wealth of knowledge about the flute, and the flutes they stock; along with so much more. I also really like the finance company they use to help you pay off your instrument in a set amount of time.

All Flutes Plus
60-61 Warren Street, London, W1T 5NZ
020 7388 8438

I haven't personally used this website, but I'm aware that they do come highly recommended. It's also another option for you to use if you don't want to use 'Just Flutes'.

Flute Center of New York
307 7th Avenue, Suite 401, New York, NY 10001
(212) 307-9737

This is great for anyone that is based in the USA, and are looking to take the flute but maybe aren't too sure where to go. The Flute Center offers every brand of flute and piccolo that you can think; and that ranges from student flutes right the way up to professional model flutes. They have also started to carry a selection of sheet music.

Flute Tunes

This a brilliant free resource that has anything related to the flute. They offer a wide range of free sheet music, studies and various scales and arpeggios; as well as so much more. You can also print off the sheet music as it's in the format of a PDF. This is one of my favourite go-to resources as it offers so much, and its really easy to navigate.

IMSLP

This is another brilliant resource for sheet music, but it isn't as user friendly as 'Flute Tunes'. It covers anything and everything for all instruments, and you can also print off the pieces you would like to learn at home. If you have got the patience to do so it is definitely worth a look to see what they have to offer.

Ozwinds
55 Cochranes Rd, Moorabbin, VIC 3189, Australia

Ozwinds are a popular musical retailer based in Australia, who mainly specialise in woodwind instruments. But, they do have another part of the business that specialises in stringed instruments called Ozstrings.

Synwins Violin Store
6 Raffles Boulevard, #03-117/118/119, Marina Square, Singapore 039594

This is another popular music retailer who are based in Singapore, and they mainly specialise in stringed instruments and musical accessories. I only found out about this popular musical retailer by watching TwoSet Violin on YouTube.
